SpaceUp Live 1
The organisers of SpaceUp Leicester (R&R Space) worked with SpaceUp Foundation to organise the very first SpaceUpLIVE – an online version of the global “space unconference”. It was planned as a brilliant way to spend time with collaborators all over the world, without leaving your home, while sharing your interest about space.\n Everyone who presents at SpaceUp LIVE is encouraged to give a talk or start a discussion in a live conference call. Presenters were able to schedule their sessions online on a first-come, first-serve basis, which were be posted to the “grid”.

PhiWeek Bootcamp 2018
From 11 to 13 November 2018, the European Space Agency (ESA) organised the 1st Φ-week Bootcamp in the framework of Φ-Week in Frascati (Rome), Italy. It brought together a mix of EO researchers, data scientists, non-space corporates, tech leaders, aspiring entrepreneurs and young professionals for an intensive 3-day event where participants were provided the tools to create their own start-up. The themes for the first event were space, food and energy.

InnoSpace Weekend 2017
During the 1st INNOspace Weekend you will learn about space, automotive and logistics, and identify challenges in each of those sectors. You will apply the design thinking process to innovate real-life problems and generate multiple ideas in a constructive way. Resources will be made available for you to build your own prototype to be able to test and validate with potential customers.

National Student Space Conference 2015
In 2015, the National Student Space Conference was hosted by Surrey Electronics and Amateur Radio Society (EARS) at the University of Surrey. One of the keynote speakers at the event was Abbie Hutty, a Spacecraft Structures Engineer on Airbus’ ExoMars Rover Project, whose talk was titled “Structural challenges in the Martian environment”. Another keynote speaker was Dr Matt Taylor, a project scientist on the Rosetta Mission whose talk was “The Rosetta Mission So Far”. Students had the opportunity to socialise at the Networking Reception sponsored by Satellite Applications Catapult and the evening social on Saturday.

National Student Space Conference 2014
In 2014, the National Student Space Conference was hosted by Leicester AstRoSoc at the University of Leicester. The conference was attended by industry experts such as the ESA astronaut Major Tim Peake. Our keynote speakers were Dr David Parker, the UK Space Agency Chief Executive, and Professor Richard Brown, Director of the Centre for Future Air-Space Transportation Technology at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. The sponsors for the event included Telespazio, Reaction Engines and the UK Space Agency.

National Student Space Conference 2013
In 2013, the National Student Space Conference was hosted by Bristol SEDS at the University of Bristol. Our keynote speakers for the event included Dr Ralph Lorenz of the John Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab on “Exploring Titan” and Dr Jason Hatton of the European Space Agency on “The ESA ELIPS programme and European ISS Utilisation”. This year was also the 25th anniversary of the founding of UKSEDS, and we had a ‘Birthday Social’ aboard the boat ‘Under the Stars’ in Bristol Harbour!
