Welcome to my website!

I am a science communicator from the UK and enjoy travelling, writing and sharing my passion for astronomy and science.

I am a graduate of the University of Leicester in Physics with Astrophysics MPhys (Hons) and an alumnus of the International Space University (ISU) Space Studies Programme 2013 (SSP13).

I am Vice-Chair of UKSEDS (UK Students for the Exploration and Development of Space) and formerly a UK National Point of Contact (NPoC) of Space Generation Advisory Council; roles where I seek to facilitate UK space activities among youth and stimulate interest in my outreach capacities.

I am currently a Journalist/Science Communication Intern at the European Southern Observatory (ESO) in Garching, near Munich in Germany. Before that I was an intern at Universe Awareness (UNAWE) based at Leiden University, supporting the dissemination of Space Scoop – astronomy news for kids.

I am a #spacetweep and you can find me hanging around on Twitter @rjmlaird where I share my passion for science communication, education and outreach.
