Welcome to my website!

I am a science communicator from the UK and enjoy travelling, writing and sharing my passion for astronomy and science.

I am a graduate of the University of Leicester in Physics with Astrophysics MPhys (Hons) and an alumnus of the International Space University (ISU) Space Studies Programme 2013 (SSP13).

I am currently a STEM Communicator for the BLOODHOUND SSC Programme Ltd, THE engineering adventure for the 21st Century – building the world’s first 1,000mph car. Our primary objective is to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.

I am a former Communication Intern at the European Southern Observatory (ESO) in Garching, near Munich in Germany, as well as a former intern at Universe Awareness (UNAWE) based at Leiden University, supporting the dissemination of Space Scoop.

I am a Trustee of UKSEDS  (formerly Vice Chair and Secretary) and Community Coordinator for the Spacelink Learning Foundation; roles where I seek to facilitate UK space activities among youth and stimulate interest in my outreach capacities.

I am a #spacetweep and you can find me hanging around on Twitter @rjmlaird where I share my passion for science communication, education and outreach.
